Review FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum ATX 3.1

Introduction

FSP has shown us quality in every product I have had the opportunity to review and recently sent us their new ATX 3.1 series PSU with PCIe 5.1 connection which powers the new Nvidia RTX 4000 series. This model is an upgrade of the Hydro PTM Pro series which has a maximum capacity of 1600W but we will review the 1350W version.

FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum ATX 3.1 Unboxing

FSP presents us with a well known packaging offering relevant information that together with the small ribbon that FSP adds indicates that we have the source compatible with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.0 with it we know that we can connect any Nvidia RTX 4000 card. On the other hand we find a fully modular power supply with flat cables that will allow us a good management of the same inside the cabinet and without forgetting that we have Japanese capacitors of last generation to provide the best performance of the same.

On the back of the packaging we find relevant information about the FSP Hydro PTM Pro such as its main features as well as in detail how the inside of it would look like and also showing that it is fully modular that we mentioned before and it is not superfluous to mention again which uses flat cables for better order.

They also show us the ECO mode which is an optional function for the user if you want to activate it or not with it will keep cooled the power supply until reaching an estimated load otherwise we have enough information about the FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W ATX 3.1

On the sides we find information on the distribution of the rails in a small table that breaks down every detail and on the other side we find the amount of cables included. As we have seen the presentation offered by FSP in their packaging is excellent because the information is accurate for the user to know the product itself.

Accessories FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum ATX 3.1

The accessories that FSP includes are quite complete and offer everything necessary for the use of the Hydro PTM Pro and therefore a form of customization quite consistent with the brand already known.

Technical Specifications

FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum ATX 3.1

When looking at the Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum we see an excellent job by FSP its design extremely careful in matte black make it very elegant and very well built. The dimensions are 180X150X86mm a size larger than other models we have reviewed so the difference is considerable but nothing exaggerated.

As mentioned on the sides we have the option of customization through some Stickers that are included in green and red which allow us to change a little our source, although it is something that FSP has shown not only in this model but in others of his authorship something that will attract the attention of the most enthusiastic users.

In the part of the modular connections of the FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W ATX3.1 are well marked to avoid connecting something wrong and as we have a new connector 12 (12V-2x6) for the new Nvidia now we will see it in this model so that part is excellent as it maintains the original design and offers compatibility with PCIe 5.0.

In the other part we find the connection for the power cable and the on/off button and the ECO Mode button which has the purpose of making our power supply have a hybrid mode so we will not have the fan permanently active but when the load exceeds 30% the fan will be activated at a certain speed and as it would go up depending on the load itself, but this is an option for the user that can be activated or not.

And at the bottom we have the label that shows a complete description of the power and its distribution in each of the rails, as well as more remarkable information of their protections or other relevant data of this product of the FSP brand.

As we have been able to appreciate the design of the FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350 W ATX3.1 has been excellent as its construction is quite solid and has very good components that make it ideal for Gaming and enthusiast apart from it has a fully modular design which allows to effectively order all the wiring inside the cabinet as we can choose what we need to install. Besides it is compatible with the new RTX this is a very good choice for gamers looking for power and quality.

Performance Testing

Test Equipment

Methodology

First of all, we perform the tests using the AIDA64 Engineer program which has Test to measure the load of our equipment and in turn verify its consumption and also the variability that may exist in each of the main rails with which we can see if our test equipment is stable or not. Each test will take approximately one hour for stock configuration and also for an Overclocking configuration so we will know if our equipment is stable.

Installation FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum ATX 3.1

FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum ATX 3.1 Testing

We have subjected the power supply to the AIDA64 Engineer stress test to analyze the regulation it offers of the voltages on the +12V, +5V and +3.3V rails. As we can see at all times offers values very close to the theoretical values, being very stable in the test with little variation that in the end is not relevant in its operation, so it is within what marks the ATX standards.

The graph shows the little variability that we will have using the equipment at maximum power or in more demanding environments such as overclocking so the FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W offers a very good stability and excellent power delivery so its performance is more than excellent and this shows that the ATX standard is fully met.

As for its consumption in CPU load (W) the increase is palpable with Overclocking since in the default configuration of the test equipment maintained normal margins according to what Intel mentions so the use of more energy is confirmed if we perform Overclocking.

Final Conclusions

The FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1350W Platinum ATX 3.1 is an excellent power supply highlighting its stability in each of the rails and very low noise in the fan.

Its power offers the ability to adapt to the needs of the user being compatible with the Nvidia RTX Series as it offers the improved connector (12V-2X6) which includes double connection of the same. In addition, it offers excellent energy efficiency 80 plus Platinum with what we are more than guaranteed its excellent performance so everywhere we look we have a very current power supply and ability to provide clean and efficient energy.
